“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.” Anais Nin

Come and spend a day immersed in writing! You will have the opportunity to listen, think, read, and write; to reignite your love of words and rekindle your creativity. Bring what you are working on, or start from scratch. This retreat is open to beginners and experienced alike.

Led by West Sussex writer, Elizabeth Holmes, the morning will be spent exploring ideas through inspiring exercises, looking at types of writing, and addressing blocks to creativity. During the afternoon you will have the opportunity for an extended period of writing. We will also cover how to set up a crit group and a writing schedule.

There will be opportunities to share your writing if you wish, but absolutely no obligation to do so. This day is about giving yourself a refreshing chance to focus on writing, to be inspired, to boost your wellbeing and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and fabulous food at the Artisan Bakehouse.

Please bring a passage of writing that inspires you, a notebook, and favourite writing implement.  If the weather permits there will be the opportunity to write outside in the peaceful grounds.

The retreat will start at 10.00am (feel free to arrive anytime from 9.30am for welcome tea/coffee and homemade biscuits).

The morning session will run for approximately 3.5 hours and then conclude with a delicious 2 course lunch with a glass of wine/soft drink, tea/coffee.

The retreat will finish at approximately 4.30pm.
