The phrase Bread & Butter has many historical origins. Reportedly first eaten together since 1492, the marriage has been solid and loving ever since! 

These originally artisanal products have graced our tables for centuries so come along and learn how to create these basic traditional delights together with a modern twist! 

Join our owner & lead baker, Les and MasterChef Champion, Kenny Tutt on a fun journey to discover the 'Art of Bread & Butter' making. Les & Kenny's warm, friendly informal style makes for an informative few hours, then a chance to enjoy a casual relaxed lunch with plenty of time for Q&A's with Les & Kenny. 

During the interactive demonstration you will learn:- 

  • How to make butter and how to make different compound butters to include (Roast chicken & tarragon butter, Nduja butter, Cacio e Pepe butter, Dill, lemon and garlic fish butter, Spiced maple syrup butter) and their potential uses. 
  • The basics of home Bread making and creating a range of delicious rolls, to include making the perfect yeasted dough, shaping, proving, scaling & baking 
  • Mise en place - How to be organised in the kitchen
  • Knife skills and tips to make life easier in the kitchen 
  • How to season and the importance of seasoning well.

The morning starts with a welcome coffee/tea & handmade cookies from 10.30am and then the demonstration will commence at 11am and run for approx. 2 - 2.5  hours, with time for Q&A's.  You will then be able to enjoy a delicious warming beef bourguignon (veg option available) & the chance to enjoy the warm breads  and try the butters made with a choice of wine or soft drink, pudding, coffee/tea included.
