Traditional French Baking

Ever dreamt of baking like a French Boulanger?

C'est possible! Come step into the world of traditional French baking with us and learn to make authentic artisan breads from scratch — no shortcuts, just time-honoured techniques.

Having had the pleasure of living and working in France we are passionate about French baking. Our tutor Jacqui loves teaching authentic bakes having trained with some of the country's top bakers. With culinary training & accreditation from the prestigious Leiths School of Food & Wine and a highly commended from Ballymalloe Cookery School as well as running her own Micro Bakery you know your will be in safe hands.

With Jacqui's guidance & expertise you will learn the necessary practical skills, knowledge and confidence to enable you to work with different doughs, and learn the traditional French methods of kneading, and shaping techniques as well as the traditional French poolish technique.

During the day you will make a range of French breads including:

• Traditional French Baguettes. (perfectly golden & crusty on the outside with that memorable soft chewy interior!)
• Rustic Pain de Campagne
• Buttery Brioche Buns (one is never enough!)
• Pain aux Noix (with delicious almond & apricot)

With a maximum of 8 in the class it is very hands-on with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. No experience of baking is needed as the process and baking will all be explained fully so suitable for beginners and enthusiastic bread lovers!

The workshop starts promptly at 10am (Arrive anytime from 9.30am for tea/coffee and homemade cookies) and will run through until 4.30/5pm latest. Includes all refreshments, a homemade set two course lunch with wine, beer or soft drinks and afternoon tea/coffee.

There is no need to bring anything with you as everything you need for the day is provided and you will take home all the breads that you have made together with the recipes and instructions.
